Course Description
This 8-week course examines the practical application economic principals in the US health care system, including delivery and financing issues. Course materials will facilitate understanding of the underlying economic rationale for current failures and current solutions to healthcare delivery, along with examination of the positive and negative attributes of the various solutions to current problems. Topics will consist of description and discussion of Healthcare Reform and implementation of the Affordable Care Act. Heavy emphasis will be place on implementation methods for practice administration. Textbook, and reading assignments will be utilized as a required source for discussion. Part of the course will consist of a group project.
