Diabetes Management and Education Program

A registered dietitian and diabetes educator has joined United Medical ACO Network on January 4th, 2016.

Amy L. Wilcoxon, MA, RD, LDN, CDE

A registered dietitian has joined United Medical ACO Network on January 4th, 2016.

Amy is a certified diabetes educator and has worked closely with patients of all ages, providing: education, counseling, program development, assessment in nutrition and wellness with a focus on diabetic management.

Amy completed her Masters of Arts in Nutrition Education at Immaculata University. She is actively serving as a Nutrition Counselor and an adjunct faculty member at the University of Delaware. Previously, Amy has served as a diabetes educator for Dr. Ripudaman Hundal of First State Endocrinology in Newark, Delaware.

Effective January 5th, 2016, in New Castle County only, for now, Amy is accepting patients for individual nutritional classes/sessions at a UMACO location in Bear where she will be available on Mondays and Tuesdays; and, Thursdays, in Downtown Wilmington, Delaware.

Amy is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Dietetics Practice Group, Sports and Cardiovascular and Wellness Dietitians (SCAN).



Tim McHugh, PT, DPT, OCS, Cert. MDT from Spine and Orthopedic Specialists (SOS PT)

Tim is a graduate of the University of Maryland, Tim received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Elon University in 2009. After graduating, Tim worked in an outpatient orthopedic setting treating a range of musculoskeletal conditions for four years prior to joining SOS physical therapy. In 2013 he became Board Certified in Orthopaedics through the APTA, as well as a certified clinical instructor.

Tim will be conducting exercise sessions for the UMACO Diabetes Management and Education Program.


Nutrition and exercise for Diabetes Management and Education Program is provided in individual and group sessions for:

• New and Existing Diabetic Patients with Type I
• New and Existing Diabetic Patients with Type II
• Gestational Diabetic Patients
• Pre-diabetic Patients for Weight Management
